Midgee Sires

When additional land was purchased in 1999 the stud was able to be expanded to two stud sires providing much more flexibility to the breeding program.

Midgee sires at this time (2007) are Midgee Ben and Baroma Downs Fenech. Ben is a well muscled, large scale bull with excellent temperament. Fenech is a strong poll bull with dark colouring, strong bone and excellent markings and temperament.

Midgee is concentrating upon the production of bulls for our coastal environment and market. The poor quality pasture for much of the year requires that cattle have a good constitution. Local markets are largely weaner and butchers’ trade. Midgee cattle are well muscled and early maturing and satisfy this market with their rapid growth rates.

Midgee is a Johnes protected herd having entered the JDMAP in 1996 and is currently MN3 status. All bulls sold are semen tested (with a veterinary certificate), 3 day, vibrio and 7 in 1 vaccinated. Delivery can be arranged (free to 100kms).

Midgee bulls are largely sold from the paddock – a system that is an advantage to everyone! Bulls are also sold at the Grafton Bos Indicus sale in September and in the future at the Casino All Breeds sale.

Those needing bulls (or females) are always welcome to an obligation free inspection and a “cuppa”. Our contact details can be found here.
